An Introduction

About Keri H. Carroll

The only candidate whose entire career has focused on the cases chancery court hears every day.

Keri H. Carroll in cream blazer

Keri is the first attorney in her family. Keri comes from a family of like-minded servants - preachers, teachers, and healthcare providers. Like them, Keri has always had a passion for helping others. Throughout her career, Keri has served the Rankin Chancery Court, as well as other chancery courts in this state, as Guardian Ad Litem. As Guardian Ad Litem, Keri served the children of Rankin County as their voice and advocate, ensuring their protection and that their best interests were safeguarded and conveyed to the Court.

Chancery Court is oftentimes a court of heartbreak - marriages are ending, a loved one has died, property is in dispute, custody of children is at issue, an aging family member is incapable of caring for themselves or their finances, or a spouse or loved one is suffering from drug and alcohol issues and/or crippling mental health issues. Litigants are distraught, vulnerable, and in the midst of a raging battle. Because of her compassion and continuous desire to help others, Keri found her niche in family law.

After earning both her undergraduate degree and law degree from Mississippi College, Keri began her career with a clerkship at the Mississippi Supreme Court under Chief Justice James W. Smith Jr. Keri purchased her first home in Rankin County, Mississippi, and has lived in Rankin County ever since. In 2006, Keri opened her own practice in Brandon, Mississippi, and always maintained her law office in Rankin County.

After much prayer and deliberation, Keri is running for Chancellor so that she can continue to serve the residents of Rankin County, ensuring their matters are handled with patience, integrity, discernment, and fairness. Keri believes that serving as Rankin County's next Chancellor is a calling on her life and is pursuing this position in obedience to the Lord.

Keri is happily married to Luke Carroll, and they live in Flowood, Mississippi with their four children, Sadie (16), Jaxon (13), Easton (9) and Corbin (5). They attend church in Rankin County, Mississippi, each of their children attend school in Rankin County, Mississippi, and they own a youth baseball organization in Rankin County, Mississippi. As a mom and stepmom, Keri fully understands and appreciates the different dynamics in blended families. This insight adds a unique perspective to the Rankin County Chancery bench. Keri is fully invested in Rankin County and is ready to serve as its next Chancellor.

“What began as an effort to help others has, over time, become one of the greatest blessings in my own life.”

Keri offers the experience you can trust, the heart you can feel, and the commitment our community deserves.
